Publisher's Summary
"Danan is becoming a go-to author." (New York Times Book Review)
Naomi and Ethan will test the boundaries of love in this provocative romance from the author of the ground-breaking debut, The Roommate.
Naomi Grant has built her life around going against the grain. After the sex-positive start-up she cofounded becomes an international sensation, she wants to extend her educational platform to live lecturing. Unfortunately, despite her long list of qualifications, higher ed won't hire her.
Ethan Cohen has recently received two honors: LA Mag nominated him as one of the city's hottest bachelors and he became rabbi of his own synagogue. Low on both funds and congregants, the executive board of Ethan's new shul hired him with the hopes that his nontraditional background will attract more millennials to the faith. They've given him three months to turn things around or else they'll close the doors of his synagogue for good.
Naomi and Ethan join forces to host a buzzy seminar series on Modern Intimacy, the perfect solution to their problems - until they discover a new one - their growing attraction to each other. They've built the syllabus for love's latest experiment, but neither of them expected they'd be the ones putting it to the test.

Story
The Wheatons are infamous among the east coast elite for their lack of impulse control, except for their daughter Clara. She’s the consummate socialite: over-achieving, well-mannered, predictable. But every Wheaton has their weakness. When Clara’s childhood crush invites her to move cross-country, the offer is too tempting to resist. Unfortunately, it’s also too good to be true.

Kristen Petersen doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen - especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family.

Story
The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow. My meet cute (well, not so meet cute) is slightly different. I was trolling a wealthy neighborhood in Beverly Hills, searching for someone to take me as their bride, you know, to make my arch nemesis jealous who consequently just fired me.

What the critics say
Alma's Best Jewish Romance of the Year
"Danan’s book is at its very best when it’s connecting faith, trust, strength and desire in complex ways...an ambitious and rewarding story." (New York Times Book Review)
"This follow-up to Danan’s steamy 2020 debut The Roommate is filled with humor, healing, and heady good times (and, yes, that is a naughty pun)." (Vulture)
“Rosie Danan has a staggering gift for subverting expectations.... The Intimacy Experiment on the whole, is a blessing of a book - tender, bruising, sexy, and transcendent.” (Entertainment Weekly)

A little predictable but cute green flag romance.
Before reading I was a bit hesitant about the religious aspect to this book, since that's not my cup of tea, but I think the author included it extremely well. It started off a little slow and I found Naomi annoying at first but as the story progressed her character made sense. In general it's a nice positive feel good romance with enough heat to keep things interesting. The narrators did an excellent job as well, they were well suited for the characters.

loved this.
full review on my Goodreads HS Paisley, but in short, this book was awesome.
the chemistry between the characters was great. I really fell in love with Ethan and Naomi. The narrators were also great, I may or may not have fallen in love with them too.
though this novel does follow some of the normal tropes of the genre, I rarely see novels so sex positive and inclusive. this book is the second in the series, and better than the first one. I highly recommend it.
