About this listen
Right after she finishes her BLT, disgraced Major Tanis Richards is off to save the day one more time.
Tanis is looking forward to a long journey in stasis before arriving at the newly terraformed world of New Eden. New Life. New Start. Getting a berth on the Intrepid is her ticket out of the Sol System.
But nothing proves easy for Major Tanis Richards. Nothing is at it seems. What should be a simple trip is fraught with danger and filled with adventure. An array of forces seek to stop the Intrepid - no matter the cost, or lives lost. From competing corporations, to stellar eco-terrorists, no one wants the Intrepid to arrive at New Eden.
Through their journey, the crew of the Intrepid will face rival stellar governments, civil war, and the most wanted serial killer known to the galaxy. Pivoting their role from colonists to saviors.
Perhaps it's because the Intrepid carries the most valuable secret known to humanity. Or maybe it's just Tanis's luck.

Interesting storyline. Less interesting characters.
I enjoyed the first book - the action and ‘tech’ lines kept me interested. But the character development was not enough… and I made it part way through book two, but I don’t think I will return to it.

Combat +++ with a little story woven in
More or less constant and extensive descriptions of combat (hand to hand, weapons, military, space) with a little story woven through. Characters are likeable, but their stories are not sufficient to drown out the (for me) wawawa of who is fighting with whom. Might be a winner for others, but not for me.

Now I know why the first names hidden.
I am being honest in my rating so don’t freak out, if you don’t think I’m right please listen to the book and post what you think.
Strong Feminine lead. Sexy male subordinate, he has that gorgeous wink..and wants to dance with her. She has superhuman feats..along with her female computer.
Male hostiles. Except one who thinks she’s “pretty” and has the typical jealous wife. Oh, and how could I forget the gleaming black metal Female bad girl and aww such a sultry voice, then it’s onto “and the men went off to their tasks”. Cute eh? And then there’s the description of her underling that has the hots for her…the way he’s described almost makes me want to date him and I’m solidly heterosexual! Then there’s her trusty sidekick that gets her out of trouble and they form a team. Yes, it’s super girl and cat woman. I could go on but that’s only in the first five and a half hours. Is the book well written, yes it is. It’s actually very well written….but seriously…Character development, or lack of.. the female characters are well developed. The males are just filling and sexual characters. Oh and someone took Waco Texas to a whole new level! Is there story development there? Yes, for the females.
I continued reading so I could leave this honest review. Maybe the Authors getting back at all our testosterone SCI FI. If your into strong female leads with Males being submissive go listen.. Myself, I’m going elsewhere and thank the gods this was free! To recap: femin($t writing .
If you want to read well written SCI FI from a female go read Andre Norton, the grand Dame of SCI Fi and fantasy! There, I have spoken.
