About this listen
The incredible journey of one man who sets out to circumnavigate the globe on a vintage motorbike fueled by kindness. The Kindness Diaries is now trending on Netflix!
Follow the inspirational journey of a former stockbroker who leaves his unfulfilling desk job in search of a meaningful life. He sets out from Los Angeles on a vintage motorbike, determined to circumnavigate the globe surviving only on the kindness of strangers. Incredibly, he makes his way across the U.S., through Europe, India, Cambodia, and Vietnam, and finally to Canada and back to the Hollywood sign, by asking strangers for shelter, food, and gas.
Again and again, he’s won over by the generosity of humanity, from the homeless man who shares his blanket to the poor farmer who helps him with his broken down bike, and the HIV-positive mother who takes him in and feeds him. At each stop, he finds a way to give back to these unsuspecting Good Samaritans in life-changing ways, by rebuilding their homes, paying for their schooling, and leaving behind gifts big and small. The Kindness Diaries will introduce you to a world of adventure, renew your faith in the bonds that connect people, and inspire you to accept and generate kindness in your own life.

Beautiful story
I found the narrator easy to listen to and the story intriguing and inspiring. It will definitely be one I listen to a few times. The fact that he includes the many, many rejections and his own personal struggle on if he’s doing it for the right reasons is somehow uplifting to me. I guess because we’ve all been there, knowing what it feels like when the universe seems to be telling us to give up on our dreams.
The generosity, trust of and from strangers, and stories about each interaction makes this a wonderful book.

Wonderful audiobook, absolutely loved it!
Contains so much well earned wisdom about what Really matters in life! If you already got the travel bug, be warned, it will make you embark on your own adventure right away, right now - What am I even still doing here? ;) Anyways, will definitely listen to it again. And go on my own kindness journey when I can!

As good as the Netflix series!
The audible book has more content and more stories not told on tv. I loved it.

Really great feel-good listen!
I really enjoyed the story! So many great heartwarming tales about life on the road and he is very open and honest about the insecurities and fears associated with his vagabond lifestyle.
My only complaint is that the book is not read by the author. Much less, it is read by someone who does not attempt to do different voices for the different people talking from different cultures. Often it is hard to tell who is talking.
Again, great book! Just a minor complaint

Nope!
When I purchased this book I thought the author was truly travelling around the world on the kindness of others. I hadn’t realized he was very well off and that in fact, he was travelling with a film crew, motivated by his desire to make a ‘reality-based’ TV show (an oxymoron if there ever was one). With stereotypical American arrogance, he hands out ‘gifts’ with the line “I have decided...”. The writing is poor, the story is simplistic and the author suffers from a white saviour complex.

The idea behind the book is interesting
First off why would you choose a narrator with American accent when the author is British ???
The idea was interesting and intriguing but the writing…. Not so much
