Slow Burn But Wow it Was SOOOO Good!!
I really enjoyed this book. It took me a bit to get into it but the story really takes off and twists and turns. Near the end, I even cried a little. I can't wait to listen to the next two books and find out what happens. Her character really takes a journey to become this strong person, very enjoyable.

Never disappoints
Second time through, still just as good. Solid unique plot, believable characters and their development. Little bit of fantasy, romance, and adventure! All round fav

Clever!!
I was smitten with this from word one. Lia running off to avoid a loveless arranged marriage was the perfect beginning to this wonderful book. Her relationships with all the characters are engaging and honest. Rafe and Caden are the perfect blend of bad boy and gentleman...even though one is an assassin and one the jilted prince. I found myself catching feelings right along with Lia. There is a clever twist as you continue to listen and it totally caught me off-guard! I was very much like "oh you naughty author! Ya got me!" and then I couldn't believe how I didn't figure it out myself! I finished way too quickly for my own liking and now I am impatiently waiting for my next credit so I can delve into the next book. In my opinion, a must-read. #audible1

Meh, it's ok.
The book is slow and lacks character development. It's not bad, just lacking. I really feel no good/bad connection to any character. They just are.
I didn't realize this was narrated by multiple people. Never a fan of that. You end up having one character with different personalities because they are being narrated by multiple people. It really throws of the feeling and connection with some characters!

Decent story.
Narrator's inflection wasn't always correct. Author used some current day language with historical story setting.

Favourite Series
This is probably my favourite series now. I can't wait to re-listen to all three books! These books have just enough of everything you could want: peril, companionship, epic scenes... etc.

Boring
Did this book even have a climax? I felt like I was waiting and waiting for something to happen and nothing ever did. Found things (like the gift) weren't explained very well which left me confused. Was not a fan, will give the second book a chance but not feeling very hopeful.
