About this listen

He's a billionaire heir. A grump supreme. Hater of people. Bigger hater of peopling with people. And my new fake boyfriend.

"Emotionally unavailable" doesn’t even begin to describe Hayes Rutherford. He’s cold. He’s distant. He has more defenses than a nuclear missile silo. And he’s the ultimate catch of the century. At least, according to his bank statement.

My job’s simple: Keep Hayes’ matchmaking relatives, and all interested ladies, away from the cranky, grumpy walled-off heir to my favorite movie empire, by pretending to be his one true love; and in return, he won’t ruin my life over a teensy tiny little misunderstanding.

But the more I sneak past his walls and fences, the more I realize that, while we might be from different worlds, we have more in common than either of us expected. The man under all the glitz, glamour, and dollar signs could be the real love of my life.

But you know what they say about fake-dating a billionaire: It’s all fun and games, until the scandals start.

The Last Eligible Billionaire is a swoony, laugh-out-loud romance, featuring a botched wax job, a woman in over her head, a man in over his heart, and the sweetest misguided dog to ever play matchmaker...or at least make sure these two anti-love birds never have clothes when they get out of the shower. It stands alone, and comes complete with grand romantic gestures.

Worth the listen....

Generally speaking, I find Pippa Grant books have the right ratio of humour, angst and steam. This was a bit slow going in the beginning but the interesting characterization held my attention. I love her books. They're always a good 'pick me up' and worth the credit. The first audiobook I listened to of hers, Mr. McHottie, is still one of my all time favourite audiobooks.

Awesome book!! Hilarious, fun, sweet and all the feels!! 🤩🥰🤣

This book is exceptional! If you want to read a book that’s wonderful, sweet, LOL funny, charming, hot AF, a real page turner and recounts the story of two of my favourite and phenomenal characters that ever graced the pages of any book in my humongous library of read adult romance novels, then you’re in for a delectable treat! I would’ve gotten this audiobook even if it costed me 5 credits instead of the meagre 1 credit I payed for it. I’m still tingling all over from the side effects of listening to this book. The narrators were perfect for the roles and brought these characters to life, they are impeccable! Do yourself a favour and listen to this book, you can’t go wrong with this one! 🔥❤️🥰🤩

I love Begonia and Hayes!

Pippa Grant shares another heart-warming, hilarious, swoony story. I have read the book and now listened to the Audible version and can’t decide which one I like best.

give it a chance

it definitely gets better as it goes. At first, I found Begonia to be basically insufferable, but I'm not sure if that was plot or the voice she was being given by the narrators. I'm inclined to think it's a combination of both because for a character who is supposedly in tune with other people, she virtually steamrolls Hayes who is clearly stressed and uncomfortable. She definitely becomes likable as the plot develops, but I almost gave up before getting there.

Good spicy scenes. The side characters are great.

Predictable

Had a hard time staying engaged with the plot line. Difficult to suspend disbelief. The male narrator’s version of the FMC felt whiny and degrading. Hate giving poor reviews but this one stood out unfortunately.

Predictable, silly fun and I liked that

I didn't expect this to redefine the genre, nor be an epic romance for all time, and it delivered the brainless joy of eating a bag of McDonald's dollar menu burgers, but for my brain and soul.

I had a love/hate relationship with this book

I really liked (not loved) and hated this book at the same time. I don't understand why a book can make me feel this way. Going into it I was enjoying it. The whole introduction of the characters and the setting started off fun. The grumpy x sunshine was making me excited.

BUT little did I know, it was not going to be all fun and enjoyable....

I very quickly started to get annoyed with the female main character. I thought she was just super nervous in the beginning and wouldn't shut up. BOY I WAS WRONG. She literally never shut her mouth until the last couple of chapters. Her rambling quickly turned from funny and quirky to annoying and bothersome.

I was so excited that there was going to be a dog. I love when romance books have dogs, but this was not your ordinary dog. Nothing wrong with dogs whatsoever! I am a dog lover no matter what, but this dog was overly written. It almost seemed like he had more personality compared to the owner. AND actually acted more human than the female main character.

I'm a big fan of Teddy Hamilton. No matter the book, Teddy Hamilton always does a good job. I really enjoy his narration style and how he expresses the characters. Definitely look forward to any other audiobooks he does. I'm a little curious as to why only in one chapter where it's just text chains does it alternate narrators. Like why wouldn't you just do that throughout the whole book instead of just the one chapter???? Because now we have in our heads each narrator covering both voices then all of a sudden they start just saying their own lines. It's so hard to explain, but if you listened to this I hope you understand.
