Publisher's Summary

“Marissa Stapley’s writing is a gift.” (Pam Jenoff, New York Times best-selling author of The Orphan’s Tale)

The Harmony Resort promises hope for struggling marriages. Run by celebrity power couple Drs. Miles and Grace Markell, the "last resort" offers a chance for partners to repair their relationships in a luxurious setting on the gorgeous Mayan Riviera.

Johanna and Ben have a marriage that looks perfect on the surface, but in reality, they don’t know each other at all. Shell and Colin fight constantly: after all, Colin is a workaholic, and Shell always comes second to his job as an executive at a powerful mining company. But what has really torn them apart is too devastating to talk about. When both couples begin Harmony's intensive therapy program, it becomes clear that Harmony is not all it seems - and neither are Miles and Grace themselves. What are they hiding, and what price will these couples pay for finding out?

As a deadly tropical storm descends on the coast, trapping the hosts and the guests on the resort, secrets are revealed, loyalties are tested and not one single person - or their marriage - will remain unchanged by what follows.

Not my cup of tea

For me personally I don’t know if it was the story or the readers but it just made me go nope can’t stand this. But I am sure there are others whom would love this.

Intriguing!

First book from a new author but won’t be my last. Strong cast of characters with many twists and turns. My next listen will bring more perspective. Nothing is the way it seems.

Great story

I was surprised because this was a free book on my account that I would enjoy it so much. It started out slow but picked up around the middle and took a lot of turns and adventure

Strange

I'm not sure that I can say that I enjoyed this book - the story was ok, but felt strange - for a lack of a better word. The narrator was good, but I wish the voices would have been more distinct at times. There were some sections of the book that had me thinking "that's just a little extreme". If you're looking for a fun read, I don't recommend this one. Some of the characters' stories were well developed but I feel that others could have had more background details.

Not one of my favourites but it’s worth listening to thie end

I found this book ok. It reminded me of a Harlequin romance novel which are never my favourite.

Worth listening to the end if you have nothing better to do.

Weak story but still somewhat enjoyable

This book starts off well and had enough intrigue to draw me in. It felt like the seeds for one of those miniseries that weave various plots a single core story with a catalysing event. However, I think it ultimately fails to deliver on its initial promise and left me feeling that it was a loose plot with a sloppy ending. The outcome is not believable in itself, but also renders all of the story unlikely. It could definitely use a rewrite, but still might find a plot worthy of a screen play or mini-series. However I won’t be looking for future works from this author.
