Publisher's Summary

Randidly Ghosthound is not having a good week.

In his chest, a mad woman's bitterness pushes his Soulskill closer to an incendiary implosion. Out in the wider world of Tellus, he was ambushed by a Wight Propagator and left in a holding chamber to await a miserable fate. He has been left in darkness, with an unknown fate hanging over him.

But even drained of Mana and Stamina, Randidly has a few tricks up his sleeve.

After planting the seed of his escape plan, Randidly heads into his Soulskill, moving amongst the Earth Golems, the Spriggits, the Weavers, and the Monster People of his inner world. Soon he must come into conflict with Alta Bounty, who would burn the world to the ground to understand why Randidly, the host of their universe, allowed her family to die.

Yet even after escaping, all that waits for Randidly Ghosthound is the war against the Wights. If he is to survive and protect his friends, he will need to hold the defensive line against the endless horde of the enemy.

The Spearman of ancient Tellus myth is alive and well—having assumed the mantle of First Propagator and twisted the Second Calamity to his own ends. Now, the Spearman moves to bring his dream to light, annihilating all life on Tellus in the process.

Fantastic series and this book is a great addition to it.

Phenomenal writing and narration. Very creative power system. Flexible and inventive. My only complaint is all of the women seem written so angry and crazy. Is there no one pleasant in this universe? So far, no. Maybe that in itself is commentary about the raging selfishness in todays society, and yet I could find 1000 nice people for every suspect one, but I don’t understand how any of the men or women could be considered appealing when madness seems ever present, right there at the edges of your vision.

I have considered that maybe I am letting the way the narrator voices these characters to over-influence my opinion of them, but I’m legit just waiting for the refreshing experience of the MC meeting just one, nice, non-crazy, non-power hungry moron.

So if I had to level a complaint, it would be the fact that few characters are truly likeable, by the same token the book and the story are so good that it kind of doesn’t matter. If that was the goal, the author has achieved that for sure. Fantastic story and world building.

My sole request to the author would be that a character could be introduced that would be genuinely funny and enjoyable and at the same time maybe incorruptible. Probably impossible on some level, but it could lead to some neat characters along the lines of a “Happy Master” in LOTR fashion.
