Harriet was looking forward to being posted alongside her father, but he was gone before she arrived, and there is something wrong in the tower.
Stenner Braunn commands the Daylight Crew. Their ship is headed east, with nothing but ancient ruins to guide their way. He has doubts about their journey, but his job is to kill, not to think. Especially with the Night Crew watching.

A thrilling story full of mystery and danger
What an incredible prefomance for such a great story. The world building is so cool, I loved learning about its mechanics and the magic system. Concepts that were intorduced in the first book were really unpacked in this one.
I enjoyed the book so much when I started it, I listened to it all day only pausing when someone or something needed my attention, and when it was done I restarted it and listened to it again, it took two days.
Once again the characters felt three dimensional and real as though they might exist in the real world. I loved getting to know them all and caring about them and worryong for them.
Very excited for the next installment in the series.
10/10 would recommend.
