The Like Switch is packed with all the tools you need for turning strangers into friends, whether you are on a sales call, a first date, or a job interview. As a Special Agent for the FBI's National Security Division's Behavioral Analysis Program, Dr. Jack Schafer developed dynamic and breakthrough strategies for profiling terrorists and detecting deception. Now, Dr. Schafer has evolved his proven-on-the-battlefield tactics for the day-to-day, but no less critical battle of getting people to like you.

In The Like Switch, he presents these techniques for how you can influence, attract, and win people over. Learn how to think and react like your favorite TV investigators from Criminal Minds or CSI as Dr. Schafer shows you how to improve your LQ (Likeability Quotient), "spot the lie" both in person and online, master nonverbal cues that influence how people perceive you, and turn up or turn down the intensity of a relationship.

Dr. Schafer cracks the code on making great first impressions, building lasting relationships, and understanding others' behavior to learn what they really think about you. With tips and techniques that hold the key to taking control of your communications, interactions, and relationships, The Like Switch shows you how to read others and get people to like you for a moment or a lifetime.

Favourite book of all time

I honestly heard so much about this book before I finally decided to cave an purchase it. I've listened to it over and over because the messages it portrays are just fascinating. The narrators voice is so soothing it's so easy to just lose yourself and become completely immersed. I will recommend this book to friends always. #audible1

Best book if you are autistic and want friends.

So...this book was recommended to me in an autism group I'm in on facebook. Someone said it was what she and every autistic member of her family read to help them with their social skills. So I took a look at it and they were 100% correct. This is the BEST book I have ever read about how to understand neurotypical social skills. I still struggle to actually remember all of it while I'm in the heat of a socially anxious moment...but I'm getting better. And at least now I can assess correctly what went down after the fact and not worry that I made a complete fool of myself. So I thoroughly recommend this book to any autistic individual who is struggling to understand how to navigate a neurotypical world (which is probably most of us).

Interesting Points, Hard to apply #Audible1

It's an interesting read that borrows points and seems to follow the same general ideas of Dale Carnagie's How to Win Friends and Influence people but goes into more details about specific ques and flags. While it's difficult to remember and apply these flags in real life the broad ideas are still helpful and if you're truly invested you could use these ideas in real life.

Good (not Great)

It is a well written book. A lot to take away and it’s best to read this book when you can take notes or make bookmarks on audible. I’ll probably re-listen to it to understand the points a little more in depth. It is a great read if you have are having trouble with getting to know people. It’s definitely worth listening to if you have a chance and are looking to improve first impressions.

Very practical advice

I use the strategies outlined almost everyday! The ideas work with my family and at work. I've read lots about cognitive behaviour therapy and its nice to see it put into action in such a practical way.
