About this listen
Christina Bennett had taken London society by storm. The ravishing beauty guarded the secret of her mysterious past until the night Lyon, Marquis of Lyonwood, stole a searching, sensuous kiss. An arrogant nobleman with a pirate's passions, he tasted the wildfire smoldering beneath Christina's cool charm and swore to possess her....
But the feisty and defiant Christina would not be so easily conquered. Mistress of her heart and of her fortune, she resisted Lyon's sensuous caresses. She dared not surrender to his love...for then, she must also forsake her precious secret...and her promised destiny!

Awesome!
Julie Garwood spins a great story and Susan Duerden narration is perfect, all her different voices makes it so easy to follow.

Book was lovely. Just a little bothered by the narrators male characters . They all sounds so raspy and nasally otherwise a good listen.

Good story, raspy narrating
The story line was good and different. The narrating of the females was good, however, the male narrating were very raspy and whiny. I did not like that.

Not the best one
The narrator is difficult to listen to with the way she draws out the last words in sentences, she draws out the word “why” in sentences like “why, I thought you’d never ask.” making it sound like “why” is its own question, and her male voices are grating and a little freaky.
As for the story itself, I’ve enjoyed other Julie Garwood books more. Christina and Lynn’s arguments were a little ridiculous, and they whispered too much. Even more than characters do in the other books. JG loves to make them whisper for some reason.
