One evening, while out swimming in the Thames, Judith witnesses a brutal murder. The local police don’t believe her story, so she decides to investigate for herself and is soon joined in her quest by Suzie, a salt-of-the-earth dog-walker, and Becks, the prim and proper wife of the local vicar.
Together, they are the Marlow Murder Club.
When another body turns up, they realize they have a real-life serial killer on their hands. And the puzzle they set out to solve has become a trap from which they might never escape....

Great narration
Throughly enjoyed this book. It was fun cozy mystery. I will listen to the series.
The narrator really added to this story with her amazing voice.

Charming murder mystery in the English countryside
What’s not to love! Great narration, fantastically odd (in a good way) characters, and a good murder mystery. Great balance of humor, suspense, and old fashioned English sensibility.

Not anything like Miss Marple
A new kind of senior citizen detective and her two friends solve a difficult case. The pace is fast the language polite and the whole thing entirely fun to read. Glad I found this audiobook.

Just okay
I love all the Thursday murder club books but this one was a little less engaging. Judith’s monologues ran a little long and it was just a little too over the top for me.

Love the characters
The narrator was fabulous. Love the characters and their friendship. I caught what was going on right away, but I still enjoyed how they unravelled it.

Nice easy listen, plot a bit slow
*spoiler alert*
The plot felt a bit slow in the initial development, and then again later - especially around the climax - the conversations and change of perspective were too long-winded. Listening felt like chewing gum. One of these detective stories where a murderer listens endlessly to what their could-be victim has to say, just to then be taken down 'by surprise'.
Narrator good though, and easy listen, not too gory.

Cozy mystery
I enjoy cozy mysteries, but this one had a rather slow moving plot. I found it hard to really connect with and care for the characters, even the heroine. The narrator was excellent, however, and probably kept me listening to the end. Very well read!

humour, logic and intelligent writing
Wow that was fun. I have a new writer to read. All the characters were spot on. Zero jarring moments. it was just really, really good. and yes, Super performance.
