Farrier Perry Bontrager has had enough of his four happily married older brothers' attempts to find him a bride. Daisy, who was left at the altar by her ex-fiancé, Reuel, is forced to move to Marigold by her overprotective parents, who want her to have a fresh start. But Daisy is still in love with Reuel and believes that if she becomes a better cook, housekeeper, gardener, and most importantly, smarter, then he will come back to her. When she's tricked into going out with Perry, she reveals her frustration with her family.
