>When South African conservationist Lawrence Anthony was asked to accept a herd of "rogue" wild elephants on his Thula Thula game reserve in Zululand, his common sense told him to refuse. But he was the herd's last chance of survival: they would be killed if he wouldn't take them. In order to save their lives, Anthony took them in. In the years that followed he became a part of their family. And as he battled to create a bond with the elephants, he came to realize that they had a great deal to teach him about life, loyalty, and freedom.

I didn't know if I could listen to it all - I did
I did not know if I could listen to it all for fear the people would be too cruel. I am glad I did. I rather liked hearing portions from the elephants perspective.

Amazing Story
I listened on my 1 hour drive to and from work each day and couldn’t wait to get back in the car to find out what happened next. Great story line! Ishy will be part of my memory now. Just about had to pull over a couple of times in tears and cheered really loud for Ishy too.

Great narration! Interesting storyline.
The storyline that followed the elephants life journey was captivating. I enjoyed seeing life from the perspective of the elephant. I learned alot about elephants and the harm done by poachers for ivory from their tusks.

A great story
Sad… but good. You will love and hate humans after this book. Must continue to do more to stop the needless slaughter… and abolish the ivory trade.
