Amazing Resource for Menopausal Women!

I *love this and Fast Like A Girl. I'm fixing the things I've done to my body in the last 20 yrs (started meno early). I never took anything and was just starting to pay for being meno illiterate. But now (!) I'm healing...Omg Dr. Mindy,..I'm SO grateful you are in the world and make this easy to understand, i.e. what to do next and how to do it, specifically). Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

So glad I picked this up!

I almost didn’t based on a couple of reviews, but I'm so glad I trusted my gut.
This book contains a wealth of knowledge, wisdom, and easy-to-use advice for women leading up to and during their menopausal years. Women and health professionals have been silent for years, and it’s only just recently that this generation of women is breaking that code of silence. My mother thought she was losing her mind at my age - no one had told her about menopause, and her doctor certainly wasn’t bringing it up either. I now feel armed with insights to guide as my North Star through these next few years.
As for those negative reviews, it became clear that the reviewers had not read/listened to the book. Eg, one seemed annoyed that Dr. Mindy had allegedly said to go to bed with the sunset… I listened intently to the bonus chapter on sleep - twice - and nowhere does she make that recommendation.

Not Realistic

I was excited to listen to this book, but after finishing it, I was disappointed. The advice provided is not evidence-based or based on Western Medicine science. Instead it’s very natural pathological based. The tests the author recommends are very expensive and she is making a profit from them with every order placed. The tests are not accurate nor would ever be recommended by a physician.

The advice provided is not realistic for a lot of women who work. For example, waking up with the sun & going to bed with the sunset, not drinking coffee for 2 hours after you wake up, avoiding stress, etc. What about those women who work shift? She recommends getting stress over with at the beginning of the day. I don’t know about you, but I have no control over what happens in my day!

All in all, I don’t feel any of the recommendations were appropriate, easy, healthy, sustainable, expensive, or evidence-based.

I do not recommend this book.
