About this listen

If you suffer from intense emotions, you are not alone. Millions of Americans are diagnosed with emotion regulation disorders, such as borderline personality disorder (BPD) and other comorbid conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and severe depression. Developed by Marsha Linehan, DBT is a clinically proven, evidence-based treatment for intense emotions that can help you start feeling better right away. This is the first consumer-friendly book to offer Linehan's new mindfulness skills to help you take control of your emotions, once and for all.

In this book, you'll learn seven powerful skills that highlight the unique connection between mindfulness and emotion regulation. Each skill is designed to help you find focus in the present moment, reduce impulsive behavior, and increase a sense of connection to your true self, even during times of extreme stress or difficulty.

You can feel calmer, more grounded, and centered. If you're ready, the mindfulness practices in this book will help you move away from a chaotic, emotion-driven life and cultivate a focused, intentional one.

EVERYONE would benefit from this book!

Not just for folks that suffer with BPD! This book outlines very actionable steps for anyone / everyone to use to improve their self esteem, relationships with others and feel inner peace. I was looking for information about DBT and this book came up in my search. Right teacher, right time. I am grateful to have found this book. It is not difficult to understand and yet references all research evidence citing the effectiveness of the action steps. Not floofy but rooted in science. I wish this was taught in elementary schools. This is how we change the world.

i didn't like the reading of all the credits. I found it distracting and hard to concentrate on learning.

Struggled to listen

Unfortunetly, really struggled to get through this. Preferred Daniel S Lobel "When your mother has BPD". Narrator tone too dismissive, her every trailing word seemed to be a reprimand...to me. The content was padded, interspersed with scientific/but some psycho-academic talk. I'm unclean on how someone looking for a solution would need to pick through to get to the heart of this? I reviewed lots of samples and titles and took a stab at what I thought would be a good book since the author and obviously Marsha Lindehan are founders.
