About this listen
Emerson Parker is exhausted.
She spends her days chasing around her high-energy, half-shifter toddler and her nights working full-time trying to make ends meet.
Oh, and add in the absolute cluster of a situation her ex dumped in her lap on his way out? Well, that's just icing on the cake.
With virtually no options left, Emerson heads for Haven, a sanctuary city for monsters and humans alike. Survival means taking a job at The Monster's Den—a club that caters to the inhuman residents of her new home.
But freedom comes with complications of its own: delusional monsters dead set on inserting themselves into her life and her bed.
With the North American Alpha hot on her heels and monsters standing in his way...
Will it be enough to keep Emerson and her daughter safe?

Love it
It's a standalone
Love the character evolution and the different take on paranormal RH romance.
Easy listen, specially with the fantastic duet Narration combo which made it better.

Passive FMC
Sigh... The description leads you to believe that the FMC will be a strong single mom fighting against the odds and finding love in unexpected ways. If that's what you were hoping for, you will be disappointed. She just passively let's these shallow and pig headed men around her make life altering decisions for her, looking around confused as they just inform her of what they decided, and does whatever they want her to. Her child is an afterthought (her mom status and how hard her life has been is what's important).
*spoilers* Instead of asking for help from people who care, she takes on a job as a sex worker for monsters, having to "interview" for free with these men who lust after her, crying when they bully her around and begs them to let her prove herself. It's full of gas lighting and toxic relationship junk couched in the wrappings of them wanting her so much she obviously should want them back. I just don't get the appeal of 1-dimensional characters and angry+strong=irresistible. I love my spicy monster romance, dark romance, and unconventional relationships but this is just so very pathetic and disappointing.
Long story short: don't waste a credit on this crap. It's utterly disappointing and honestly depressing what some people think of as "romantic".
