Publisher's Summary

Two best-selling Agatha Christie novels in one great audiobook

The Mysterious Affair at Styles - Hercule Poirot solves his first case in the Agatha Christie novel that started it all.

Who poisoned the wealthy Emily Inglethorp and how did the murderer penetrate and escape from her locked bedroom? Suspects abound in the quaint village of Styles St. Mary - from the heiress' fawning new husband to her two stepsons, her volatile housekeeper, and a pretty nurse who works in a hospital dispensary. With impeccable timing, and making his unforgettable debut, the brilliant Belgian detective Hercule Poirot is on the case.

The ABC Murders - Agatha Christie's beloved classic The ABC Murders sets Hercule Poirot on the trail of a serial killer.

There’s a serial killer on the loose, working his way through the alphabet and the whole country is in a state of panic. A is for Mrs. Ascher in Andover, B is for Betty Barnard in Bexhill, C is for Sir Carmichael Clarke in Churston. With each murder, the killer is getting more confident - but leaving a trail of deliberate clues to taunt the proud Hercule Poirot might just prove to be the first, and fatal, mistake.

A Double Delight Again!

Agatha Christie, the maestro of mystery, enchants readers with a double dose of brilliance in "The Mysterious Affair at Styles" and "The ABC Murders." These two classic novels exemplify Christie's unparalleled skill in crafting intricate puzzles, introducing iconic detectives, and weaving tales that stand the test of time.

"The Mysterious Affair at Styles" introduces readers to Hercule Poirot, Christie's iconic Belgian detective, as he makes his debut in a tale of poison, deception, and family secrets. Set against the backdrop of a country estate, the novel showcases Christie's ability to create a locked-room mystery with a cast of intriguing characters. Poirot's razor-sharp mind and quirky personality take center stage, leaving an indelible mark on the detective fiction genre. The clever plot twists and surprising resolution set the stage for Christie's enduring legacy as the Queen of Crime.

In "The ABC Murders," Christie presents readers with another masterpiece, featuring the indomitable Hercule Poirot. The novel unfolds a series of murders committed in alphabetical order, challenging Poirot's deductive skills to their limits. As the detective races against time to unravel the mind of a cunning killer, Christie skillfully builds tension and suspense. The psychological depth of the characters, coupled with the meticulous plotting, elevates "The ABC Murders" to a classic that remains as riveting today as it was upon its release.

Christie's writing style is both engaging and timeless, effortlessly transporting readers to the English countryside or the bustling streets of London. Her keen observations of human nature, coupled with her knack for creating complex puzzles, ensure that each page is a delight to read. The dialogue is sharp, and the narrative is crafted with precision, keeping the mysteries tightly woven and the pacing expertly controlled.

"The Mysterious Affair at Styles" and "The ABC Murders" stand as shining examples of Agatha Christie's enduring genius. Whether readers are new to her works or longtime fans, these novels offer an immersive experience into the world of classic detective fiction. With their clever plotting, unforgettable characters, and the inimitable touch of Hercule Poirot, these mysteries continue to captivate and entertain, solidifying Christie's place as a literary legend in the realm of crime fiction.

The ABC Murders; not one of Agatha Christie's best

The Mysterious Affair at Styles is an excellent Christie tale, but The ABC Murders is a disappointment. However Hugh Fraser's performance is so good that you almost forget how predictable it is...
