About this listen

A man awakens, adrift in deep space, with little memory of who he is - only to discover that he is the commander of a space mission; the rest of the crew is gone; and he is apparently a writer of some small renown named Neil Gaiman.

The Neil Gaiman at the End of the Universe is perfect for fans of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Black Mirror. It stars Neil Gaiman as... well, you know, and Jewel Staite (Firefly; Stargate Atlantis), and is written by Arvind Ethan David, executive producer of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

Please note: Proceeds obtained by the producer from sales of this audio project will benefit This Is My Brave, a nonprofit organization that seeks to break the stigma of mental illness, alcoholism and substance abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and more through the power of live storytelling.

Wow

Got to say, held more of a punch than I expected. Felt kind of choked up by the end of it. Very nice.

Fun, engrossing, and short

I really enjoyed this short science fiction story. The Narrators were excellent, and the plot was both interesting and compelling.

Short. Sweet. Weird and entertaining.

Neil Gaiman as the narrator is what brought me to this listen. The story is short, which works to its advantage in this case. I was interested and entertained the whole way through.

Short, Cute and Comfortingly Strange

Neil Gaiman in space, being weird and floating around and trying to remember who Neil Gaiman is? Super cute! Nice little short story to lose yourself in. Little bites of profoundness, little pieces of reflecting on the bigger things. Honestly, everything that Gaiman narrates is gold, his voice is sublime!

Neil had a blast

you could tell that Neil had a really great time narrating this short story. if you enjoy Neil narrating his own writing, you'll enjoy this "existential " short story.

So good

My curiosity was peaked by Neil Gaiman in the title and then I when I saw it was written by Arvind Ethan David I knew I had to listen to this. I was not disappointed. A great story performed perfectly by Neil himself. I loved the story and the twist at the end was fabulous. If you have 30 minutes, this is a great short story to listen to.

Just wish it was longer...

A great meta story and really well-conceived. The setting was good and Neil is an excellent narrator. Jewell was perfect in her role.

A fantastic escape

I loved the way you are dropped into the story, and finding things out as Neil does. It’s a well crafted tale, with a beloved voice cast. Well worth a listen.
