The Continuum needs Joe’s help. One of their operatives is missing, last seen in 19th-century Paris, and they believe Joe’s ability to see the past might be the only way to find him. Teamed up with Gabrielle Green, an acerbic, wisecracking traveler, Joe heads back to 1873 on his most dangerous mission yet, one that will take him deep inside a burning opera house.

But how will Joe succeed when his new companion clearly hates his guts, the missing traveler disappears the second anyone sets eyes on him, and a familiar foe threatens to trap them in the past for good? With help on hand from his best friend, Vinny, and mysterious clues hidden in his sister Amy’s paintings, Joe must hone his gift, develop new skills, and figure out a way to complete his mission before the blazing inferno comes crashing down around them all.

Great series! Unfortunate use of blasphemy.

I enjoyed this book very much, but as a Christian I found the few uses of Blasphemy of the name of Jesus to be quite offensive. Otherwise I would fully recommend this highly interesting and enjoyable series! The reading was excellent!

Great series!

One of the best series I’ve come across. The stories are well written and narrated! I am kept interested the whole time. Nick Jones has become a favorite author for me now!

I hope that there will be more!!

I looooved this story and the two before it! Nick Jones is a great author and Ray Porter does a wonderful job narrating his works!

This is a great series, I definitely recommend if you enjoy time travelling books. can’t wait for number five !

Really great book!

I loved the story a lot. My only gripe is that I hated the performance for the Japanese member of the continuum. It sounded like a bad mix of German and Asian stereotype. It would have been better if he just didn’t accent the character.

Another great instalment

Ray Porter hits another home run, narrating the third Joseph Bridgeman book! A great cast of supporting characters and some interesting wrinkles added to our regular cast. Alexia kind of annoyed me this time around, but I see where she’s coming from. And Gabby Green: what a card!

Love the premise

Along all three books so far, the writer’s characters and story are well matched to the voice actor’s inflections and pace, combining to give a thoroughly enjoyable listen! Well done. Looking forward to moving on to the next one
