Loved it!
This series was a new to me author and I'll definitely be looking for any other works. I loved the story line as well as the characters. I'd recommend this book!

I love this series so much
This story is quite unique and very interesting. I love the writing style, it’s really griping. When I start listing to it I can’t stop. The narrator is perfect for this book. Good job😁👍

Too short
I love the story but this was all training arc and no progress. Knowing that there is lots of great parts coming up this book was way too short and speaks to being a cash grab rather then making it 8 hours longer and including the tier 10 tourny.

Good performance, but the lack of story progression is horrible. It sets the next book well, but I'm still disappointed about this one.

I'm still not sure what the plot was.
Experimenting with rifts and exercising got very tiresome around hour 3 and dreadful by hour 8. There was an extreme lack of solid progress, no clearly defined enemy, no treasure hunts or epic wars. I held out hope that something would go horribly wrong and they would be forced to survive in the abyss or have to hide from the empire, or figure out how to hack the system and level faster than anyone in history. Sadly, despite the first 3 books being fire, book 4 falls flat.

The price you pay to listen to book 5
This is without a doubt a change from books 1 to 3. Just talk and character development. You learn more about tables and growth and aspects but fighting is kept to a minimum. I think/hope it's setting us up for a 5th book .. fingers crossed.

definitely the weakest of the books so far
honestly felt like this was a slog most of the way thru.. it was just then progressing and leveling with no real plot, problem to solve, etc.. it was super boring, not a lot of action of fighting like the previous books. I'm all for adding in more personal detail for characters, but this was overkill and just made the entire book feel like it was an intermission between some bigger storylines. I was honestly super disappointed in this book, the entire thing probably could've been booked down into 5 or 6 chapters. I'm hoping the next book is a lot better, I really enjoyed the 1st 3 books (the novella between 3 & 4 was okay but included in the audible pack), so I'm hoping it picks up from there in book 5. I read/listen to litrpgs/Xianxia books for the progression but I want to also have action that shows that progression. not just a super long book saying the MC did X training over Y time and got A levels better but then have it not shown to us at all how it looks in action is a massive let down. it felt like the entire book was building to something only to just end feeling like a total waste of time.
