With more than one million copies sold, this series of modern classics about the charming Penderwick family from National Book Award winner and New York Times best seller Jeanne Birdsall is perfect for fans of Noel Streatfeild and Edward Eager.
This summer the Penderwick sisters have a wonderful surprise: a holiday on the grounds of a beautiful estate called Arundel. Soon they are busy discovering the summertime magic of Arundel's sprawling gardens, treasure-filled attic, tame rabbits, and the cook who makes the best gingerbread in Massachusetts. But the best discovery of all is Jeffrey Tifton, son of Arundel's owner, who quickly proves to be the perfect companion for their adventures.
The icy-hearted Mrs. Tifton is not as pleased with the Penderwicks as Jeffrey is, though, and warns the new friends to stay out of trouble. Which, of course, they will—won't they? One thing's for sure: it will be a summer the Penderwicks will never forget.
Deliciously nostalgic and quaintly witty, this is a story as breezy and carefree as a summer day.

I sometimes read this book on my own but it’s amazing every time, whether reading or listening. I love the characters and what happens with them. And when they talk about the characters I always get this feeling that I’m watching everything they’re going through. Hilarious, smart, witty, quirky, heartwarming these things are all found in this amazingly written book!Definitely going to read and listen again!📖⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A hit with my 6 year old!
This book was such a hit with my 6 year old girl. She could listen to it for hours straight and I found it very entertaining as well (I wanted her to listen in the same room as me so I could listen too!). We plan to listen to more from this series.

Not So Great...
It's good I guess but like not that good. I mean don't get me wrong, Jeanne Birdsall is really good at writing but I just feel like it has more potential.
In short, I love the other books but this one is just, meh.
