About this listen

He jumped to his death in front of witnesses. Now his wife is charged with murder.

Five years ago, Erin Kennedy moved to New York following a family tragedy. She now lives happily with her detective husband in the scenic seaside town of Newport, Long Island. When Erin answers the door to Danny's police colleagues one morning, it's the start of an ordinary day. But behind her, Danny walks to the window of their fourth-floor apartment and jumps to his death.

Eighteen months later, Erin is in court, charged with her husband's murder. Over that year and a half, Erin has learned things about Danny she could never have imagined. She thought he was perfect. She thought their life was perfect.

But it was all built on the perfect lie.

Enjoyable

Sometimes we order and listen to a long complicated story then say to ourselves, we’ll that’s time and money I’m never getting back! No so here. I liked it. Enjoyed the experience. Bravo!

Spoiler alert

The story was pretty decent, the narration was well done….but can someone please explain to me…

…Don’t read if you haven’t read it…

How the heck they published this book with the tagline on the cover that is completely false??!?

Perfectly Amazing Suspense!!!

The narration was so good and I quite enjoyed the slight Irish accent. It did not distract at all from this suspenseful book. Well written by Jo Spain.
A bit confusing initially with the then and now and the different characters. However, it all came together in the end.
This is not a book that you can guess the outcome. I thought I knew several times in the listening. But I was so wrong.
What a great conclusion and I was dumbfounded with the twist…..What a twist!!!
Amazing listen and I thoroughly enjoyed the narration and will definitely look for more books by Jo Spain. A very good purchase and thoroughly enjoyable. I finished this book in one day. Could not put it down Im afraid…..

Misleading headline

The book is good. I really appreciated the storyline, however, I purchased the book because of the headline which was misleading...
But I don't regret having a listen. it was worth it!

A Perfect Lie - and a perfect twist!

At the start with several chapters underbelt, I was getting a bit confused since the story involved few more characters that needed to be mentioned to make the story believable. As I listened, the author tied the characters together, and a point was made. The run of the story was mesmerizing that I finished in one long sitting. There was a point that I thought who was the guilty one, but I was wrong. Then the twist came, and I was surprised. A must (read) listen! Recommended.

The tag line has nothing to do with the book

I bought the book for the tag line, and it's not true about the story at all. It was predictable and fell flat compared to what it hinted that it could have been.

Well done

I really enjoyed the story even if the end was a bit too fast to happen. Few minutes of reading and the story is ended. I would have liked to it be more explained, I mean to know how the characters evolved after all of this. Anyway I really liked this book. The narrator is really good too.

Jumps all over the place

This book doesn’t cover the story chronologically. Hard to follow but in the end it all comes together.
Narrator was good but not great since her Irish accent was evident at all times , not just when she was speaking for the main character but even when she tried to speak with a southern accent.
