About this listen
The instant New York Times best seller and most anticipated book of the summer
Soon to be a major motion picture starring Scandal's Kerry Washington
An addictive psychological thriller about a group of women whose lives become unexpectedly connected when one of their newborns goes missing.
A night out. A few hours of fun. That's all it was meant to be.
They call themselves the May Mothers - group of new moms whose babies were born in the same month. Twice a week, they get together in Brooklyn's Prospect Park for some much-needed adult time.
When the women go out for drinks at the hip neighborhood bar, they are looking for a fun break from their daily routine. But on this hot Fourth of July night, something goes terrifyingly wrong: one of the babies is taken from his crib. Winnie, a single mom, was reluctant to leave six-week-old Midas with a babysitter, but her fellow May Mothers insisted everything would be fine. Now he is missing. What follows is a heart-pounding race to find Midas, during which secrets are exposed, marriages are tested, and friendships are destroyed.
Thirteen days. An unexpected twist. The Perfect Mother is a "true page turner." (B.A. Paris, author of Behind Closed Doors)

Story
It’s been ten years since Priscilla and her Zeta Phi Zeta sorority sisters graduated college. Ten years since they were all in the same room together. Ten years since one of them died. And now Lupé’s killer has been released from prison on a technicality, days before their ten-year reunion. Priscilla decides that the party must go on; Lupé would have wanted it to. And besides, an epic reunion bash might be the perfect distraction. Back together, the Zetas party like it’s 2012, and it’s wild, just the way it used to be. Maybe too wild.

Story
When Georgia rents her country home for the month of August, it’s off to the relaxing Connecticut shore for her; her husband, Tom; and their young daughter. It’s just what they need to ease family tensions and reconnect. All that’s left to do is leave behind their house keys—to a stranger. For Anna, Georgia and Tom’s house in the cool woodlands is a dream break from the oppressive heat of a New York City summer—and from an increasingly ill-fated relationship with her lover. A month apart and Anna can clear her head and reassess her future. She’s found the perfect place to do it.

Story
Hen and her husband, Lloyd, have settled into a quiet life in a new house outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Hen (short for Henrietta) is an illustrator and works out of a studio nearby and has found the right meds to control her bipolar disorder. Finally, she’s found some stability and peace. But when they meet the neighbors next door, that calm begins to erode as she spots a familiar object displayed on the husband’s office shelf. The sports trophy looks exactly like one that went missing from the home of a young man who was killed two years ago.

Story
My husband is dead. I attended his funeral. I watched his casket be lowered six feet into the ground. (Actually, it may have been only five feet, but that still seems like more than enough.) And then we ate an array of finger sandwiches and deviled eggs and miniature beef wellingtons that cost more than my first car. My point is, Grant is gone. And so are all his many, many deep, dark secrets which I never really ever bothered to ask him about. He is never coming back.

Bravo Cristin Milioti!
A baby is abducted, the crime scene is compromised, and a Mommy group becomes unhinged as its members try to solve the mystery, unwittingly exposing secrets long kept hidden. Five stars for being addictively, compulsively readable. Five stars for Cristin Milioti's fantastic narration. Three stars for literary value. Note: Mothers who have lost a baby (in any sense) might find this book triggering, so proceed with caution. #Audible1

Gripping psychological thriller? Nope!
I am so tired of books that say they are 'gripping psychological thrillers.' This book definitely was not. It had a multitude of characters Winnie, Franny, Scarlett, Collette, Token & Gemma to name a few all with some 'secret' in their past which in most cases didn't add to the book and the fact a baby had been kidnapped. I would liked to have seen more from the investigative end of it and more of the main character Winnie.
I found myself tuning out when listening to this book as it was slow moving.
I finished it, but even the epilogue was hokey.
