About this listen
In the mid-1870s, a violent spray of comets hits Earth, decimating cities, erasing shorelines, and changing the world's climate forever. And just as Earth's temperature dropped, so was civilization frozen in time. Instead of advancing technologically, humanity had to piece itself back together....
In the 21st century, boats still run on steam, messages arrive by telegraph, and the British Empire, with its capital now in Delhi, controls much of the world. The other major world leader is the Czar of All the Russias. Everyone predicts an eventual, deadly showdown. But no one can predict the role that one man, Captain Athelstane King, reluctant spy and hero, will play....

Not his best by a long shot
I was a little disappointed with this one - It reads more like it was taken from a Rill Playing Game.

Excellent story, narration not that great.
This is another great alternate history story from S.M. Stirling. Interesting setting, good characters and lots of action.
On the other hand, the narration was not that great. I realize that Indian accents can be difficult to do well but this is a story set in India so it really needs a narrator who could do these well.

One of SM Sterling's best Alternate Histories
Highly enjoyed this audio book about 15 years after reading the original book. Great characters and the whole idea of breeding women to tell the future has profound implications for the women and the area.
