Richard Rahl and his wife, Kahlan, have been reunited after their long separation, but with winter descending and the paralyzing dread of an army of annihilation occupying their homeland, they must venture deep into a strange and desolate land. overall a great audio job well done, all names pronounced well and a satisfactory display of emotion in the characters. each character was easily destinguished.

Gah! Jim Bond is back in his monotonous narration
Again, as in book two, the monotonous, pregnant pausing, Robo-narrator is back.
The story is fantastic but is completely destroyed by Jim Bond.
I listen on 1.5 speed and the dramatic pauses are too long...I don’t get why they went back to this guy after the book 2 reviews.
So frustrating.

Excellent!
This is a good book.
You just have to go in knowing that Richard, Kahlan, and the gang, are not in this book for the most part, if you can get past that, this book is very exciting!

The first 90% of the book is all about new characters. No a single chapter about anyone we know until the last few hrs. For the series as a whole, you must listen to it, but it could have been shorter.
