About this listen
Last year, defensive end Deacon Harris witnessed the very worst of the Charleston Condors.
After everything he and the team went through, he promised himself he'd walk away from football. But before he can retire, the team is sold to the last person he ever expected to see again.
Deacon stays because the Condors are going into major rebuilding mode. New owner. New coach. New players. New rules.
But one rule hasn't changed: don't fall in love with the owner of your football team.
Grant might be brilliant and a billionaire, but Deacon only remembers Grant as his tutor in college—and as the one who got away.
In all his dreams about reconnecting, he never imagined that Grant would end up as his boss. Both his downfall, and also his salvation. Or that they'd be forced into confronting the Condors' most difficult challenge yet—but that they'd face it together, hand in hand, tackling their critics and proving once and for all that love doesn't take sides.

Exciting series wrap up!
🌹🌹New Review! The Play 🎧 by @bethboldenauthor as narrated by Darcy Stark
I’m certainly lucky that I was able to binge three books in this series all in a row because right from book 1, I’m like WOW when we gon get to the Deacon/Grant f*cking ????
Considering most of the foreplay and dancing around each other was strewn into the previous books, I will say it made things difficult to keep the tension up as the book got going… thinking about it, I understood why Beth threw in so much team drama, overarching series drama, the drama of their second-chance romance and why it took LITERALLY FOREVER for them to sort their relationship BS out so that they could be the proper BFs that they deserved to be but I did enjoy the “dance” and while things between them were forbidden it was *even* hotter.
Deacon is the sexiest boyfriend, and Grant is a fantastic billionaire to read, Deacon is a lucky lucky man!
Also I love the wrapup to all the football series and all the cameos. Honestly, it was genius, extremely well crafted, and it made for an extremely satisfying epilogue.
And Darcy Stark’s voices for the boys were fantastic choices and the way he delivers the UST laden scenes is just downright masterful! I loved it!
