Story
We keep dogs and are kept by them. We love dogs and (we assume) we are loved by them. We buy them sweaters, toys, shoes; we are concerned with their social lives, their food, and their health. The story of humans and dogs is thousands of years old but is far from understood. In Our Dogs, Ourselves, Alexandra Horowitz explores all aspects of this unique and complex relationship that “dog lovers will savor and absorb” (Shelf Awareness). As Horowitz considers the current culture of dogdom, she reveals the odd, surprising, and contradictory ways we live with dogs.

Excellent dog training resource
As a dog trainer, I love reading books related to training. This book, despite having been written quite a few years ago, is extremely valuable to pet parents everywhere. The only information that I found to be slightly outdated, is how to work with separation anxiety, but otherwise, definitely a book I would recommend to anybody wanting to learn how to train their dog using positive training methods.

Great and easy read with tons of important info
I loved this book! The narrator was clear and pleasant to listen. This is the perfect book to read when you have the intention of getting a puppy. I really like the positive approach to training a dog and i think your dog will love you even more when you establish a great relationship with the dog, because remember they don't speak our language!
