About this listen
Art Montana is an obsessive DEA agent. The Barrera brothers are heirs to a drug empire. Nora Hayden is a jaded teenager who becomes a high-class hooker. Father Parada is a powerful and incorruptible Catholic priest. Callan is an Irish kid from Hell's Kitchen who grows up to be a merciless hit man. All of them are trapped in the world of the Mexican drug Federación.
From the streets of New York City to Mexico City and Tijuana to the jungles of Central America, this is the war on drugs like you've never seen it.

Narcos Meets The Godfather
One of the best books I’ve read (listened to). This book is the best part of the Tv show mixed with the Godfather. The way this story jumps between characters is reminiscent of the a song of ice and fire series. Cannot recommend this book enough.
By far the best voice performance I have heard to date

War on drugs my ass!
A long twisty and mostly satisfying story. Reminded me of some of the shenanigans in Netlix's Narcos series — same problems, same ruthless killers. When will policy makers realize that the so called 'war on drugs’ is a losing battle?

Art Keller wouldn’t last a chapter in reality.
Other then that fact, Winslow spins a fun yarn. Fairly well researched for real world historical and political accuracy. I like that the novel hasn’t been cancelled or banned yet too. The narration and voice characterizations are very well done and not over-cooked for the reader’s vocal range. Get in the van for this one!

Quite possibly the best audiobook I've ever listened to
Enticing from start to finish, masterful in its story development and enlightening in historic facts. The narrator does a fantastic job with foreign accents. I am in instant fan of Don Winslow and will be jumping straight into the next instalment.

An epic story, well narrated!
This is my third book by the author, and I loved it. The story follows general historical timelines which forms the backdrop of this epic story. Excellent character development and the dialogue is great. The narration was fantastic and the various character's voices were perfectly done, in particular the Mexican characters. I would highly recommend this book if you like the genre.

One of my favourite trilogies
Not for the faint of heart. The Border Trilogy (this, The Cartel and The Border) is not for the faint of heart. These books have a ton of graphic violence in them, they also are really well written in my opinion. Best work Don Winslow has ever written. Start on this one for sure. You can basically start on anyone you want but the cast of characters and history is so much richer when you read them in order.
