Publisher's Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

When Gervase Frant, Seventh Earl of St Erth, returns at last from Waterloo to his family seat at Stanyon, he enjoys a less than welcome homecoming. Only Theo, a cousin even quieter than himself, is there to greet him - and when he meets his stepmother and young half-brother he detects open disappointment that he survived the wars. But the dangers of the Lincolnshire countryside are quite different to those of the battlefield.

Georgette Heyer was the most successful and best-loved novelist of her day and The Quite Gentleman displays all the skills which won the hearts of her large and enduring audience.

Wonderful!

This was never my favourite Georgette Heyer to read, but I revised my opinion on listening to this wonderful production.

Great narrator and story

Georgette Heyer is one of my favourite authors. I've read many of her books but not this one, and decided to listen to it. I'm so glad I did!! The narrator is fantastic! Each voice was distinguishable and you could just hear their personality.

As for the story, it's got to be one of her best. I just love it. She wrote many mysteries as well as regency romance, and you can tell she loved the little bits that she threw in there. I was sad for the one character, but the romance and other parts of this book made me finish it with a huge grin on my face.

Definitely recommended if you like humorous reads, a fantastic narrator, and a great Regency romance.
