About this listen
Life isn't a game. Well, maybe it is now.
Every day is the same for Joseph: Study, go to class, repeat. He can't help wondering what it's all for; who it's all for? Life is dull, and there's no prospect of that changing. Is some excitement too much to ask for?
"Get to safety if you wish to survive!"
Joseph's prayers are answered, but not in a way he could ever have expected. Goblins, ghouls, kobolds, and a myriad of monsters and mythical creatures have spawned all over the college campus and beyond. The carnage is shocking.
If he's going to survive the RPG apocalypse, Joseph is going to have to figure out the new rules fast. And if it's wrong to feel so alive...when so many other people have died?

I bought this on a whim and I need a random and unimpressive audio book in the background while I worked. Be careful what you wish for, which is why overall rating for this book is "It's okay" and a little less than mediocre.
All the characters were emotionally bland with no real character growth for the whole book. The different change of character and "evolution" seem like it was added as an after thought. The main character was unimaginative, plain and a wimp. I felt like i was listening to a 10 hour audio book of a side character. His solution to his problems to his enemies are either "run away" or "hit it until it dies". By the end, his "love interests" seemed fake and boring as if the author didn't what relations with the opposite sex was and made the whole affair as boring as cutting grass. The story was a character as well; a very boring character. It's major problem was that it could not decide what it wanted to be; a earth Apocalypse with a new system or an isekai with a new system. So the "author"decided to do both. As I write this, I am thinking someone took two different litrpgs and made a bot read them both and compile a story. After they edited and sanitize to the point where it became a white and boring as white bread. I will not be reading book 2 also if the author keeps wanting to be an author, he should taking some writing class or let his bot download an "emotion" app for his characters. I will admit, it was perfect background distraction. The performance could use some work to and I got the feeling they wanted to put for emotion and color into his work but stayed neutral. I did like how he kept saying "indomitable" with a hint of passion.
