About this listen
This program is read by the author.
The instant New York Times and USA Today best seller
From the number-one best-selling author of Too Much and Never Enough: A diagnosis of America's national trauma, and a way to heal.
The Reckoning will examine America’s national trauma, rooted in our history but dramatically exacerbated by the impact of current events and the Trump administration’s corrupt and immoral policies. Our failure to acknowledge this trauma, let alone root it out, has allowed it to metastasize. Whether it manifests itself in rising levels of rage and hatred, or hopelessness and apathy, the stress of living in a country we no longer recognize has affected all of us. America is suffering from PTSD - a new leader alone cannot fix us.
An enormous amount of healing must be done to rebuild our faith in leadership, and our hope for this nation. It starts with The Reckoning.

Wow!
An excellent read. Mary's command of the English language is astounding. Very clear and concise prose. I loved every minute of this book and agree with all her thoughts.

Timely!
Once again Mary Trump provides clarity in a time of conspiracy theories and outright lies,; and as a true leader, encourages us to face our traumas (collectively and singularly), so that we might have a chance to heal the wrongs of the past that continue to destroy us in the present. I am Canadian, but much of what Mary Trump writes about has no borders. Thank you for having the guts to put this to paper!

Mary for Prez!
She is on the money, as usual. I am in awe of Mary Trump’s fearlessness and she delivers her blunt message with exacting force. Some of the history is painful to hear, but necessary for our own growth. Thank you Mary.
Please consider running for president.

Wow!
I read Mary Trump's last book, and when I heard about this one, I was a bit dubious, wondering if she was getting out of her depth. Turns out, far from it. This is incredible, and, BTW, a great pairing with 1491.

Great History Lesson
As a Canadian I found this book book extremly educational about US African American History. I felt like I was listening to a history lesson. Those who are disappointed that she didn't talk enough about Donald please read her other book if you haven't already. I loved the fact that Mary herself narrated it as I find her voice very soothing.

A more complete history
Mary Trump was the right person at the right time to delve into the deep history of why the US is where it is today. Her insights are real and her perspective is invaluable.
Well done Mary!

Excellent historical recap
Loved this book. Mary provided some historical context in order to help you understand how things worked in the U.S. and why things got so messed up. Shame America is a great country with so much potential but some people just don’t like change!
An excellent read as Mary very articulate with ability to provide unbiased information. Quite a brave woman!

Bias, but good
Easy to follow her "connect the dots" approach from 19th century black slavery to current day white privilege in America and how it lead to Trump becoming the worst narcissistic president ever.
