1st time I struggled to finish a Middle Falls book

This book was quite boring compared to the exciting previous book, The Vigilante Life of Scott McKenzie.

Disappointed

I’m glad I read the books in order. I never would have read the rest if I had read this one first. First of all the narrator had me gritting my teeth. She sounded so drab with very little inflection. I was waiting for a tragedy to happen after each sentence. Also, the story line was nothing like the previous 7 books (which I thoroughly enjoyed). I heard the author say he was trying to honour his sisters life with this book. He should have chosen a different line of books to do it. I’m a bit hesitant to read #9 now as he said he was deviating again. I guess I’ll give it a go but will not suffer through the whole book this time if it does not have the same quality as the first 7.

Enjoyable

I started with the sixth book the changing lives of Joe Hart, which I really enjoyed and then did Scott McKenzie and now this one. I really like the writing and how it flows and how it makes me feel. I will eventually get to them all. 👍
