Publisher's Summary

When a dream trip becomes your worst nightmare...

You’ve been excited about this getaway for months–at last, a chance to reconnect with your husband at a secluded island resort. But when he unexpectedly calls you from the beach, you hear the urgency in his voice. Something is very wrong.

The beautiful waitress from the restaurant last night has been found lying dead in the sand. And the police want to question your husband about it.

Sure, you saw him glance at her over dinner a few times, but you know he didn’t have anything to do with the poor girl’s death. So why is he asking you to lie to the police that he was with you all night? And where did he go in those missing hours?

When he returns to your beautiful sea-view suite, things get heated and he accuses you of being jealous, just like he always does. Yes, the waitress was overly flirtatious with your husband, but you didn’t actually wish her any harm. Not really.

Can you trust the man you married...or are you the one who can’t be trusted?

Perfect for fans of Gone Girl, The Hunting Party, and The Girl on the Train.

Good Thriller with Flawed Characters

I am still 2/3 in and honestly, while a good thriller trying to guess who dunnit...many of the characters are flawed which make the story interesting but one character in particular makes me cringe...Sam...when you read this book, you will know what I am talking about. At times, you just want to be the girlfriend that sits down and have the talk with her about self-love and self-world...it's so frustrating to hear how she lets her husband treat her...

A murder mystery, who did it novel. if you love playing detective then you will love all the twists and turns of this plot and surprise ending. The narration was well done. Looking forward to another listen from both Sue Watson the author and the narrator Tamsin Kennard.

A bit of a snoozer

Has a twist at the end, but it’s kind of lame. Okay story, but just didn’t captivate me. The relationship between the three women kind of droned on and on without much happening. My mind would wander, but when I would rewind it, I realized I didn’t miss anything. Too much repetition, and going over and over the same thing.
Spoiler: the author tried to wrap it up with a big twist at the end, but it just didn’t land because Sam who accosted the server with such vengeance and violence, seems so out of character. And then just a couple of days later, she decides to divorce her husband after begging the server to leave her husband alone? Whaaat?

Boring, predictable

Had to listen to this on x2 just to get tthrrough it quickly because it was painfully slow and repetitive.

not a fan.

While I'll admit that the story did keep me guessing for a large portion of the book, I was still able to figure out the ending a few chapters before it was revealed. Ultimately, I found all the characters annoying and unlikable, and was unable to feel invested in caring about any of them. Many parts of the story were very far-fetched, taking away from any believability. By the time it was all revealed, I just wanted it to be over.

Meh

It might’ve been a good story, but I couldn’t stand the narration long enough to get through it

Not for me

I finished it just to find out what happened, and had nothing better to do as i was driving in a car..... definitely was unpredictable.... but found most of the story line and events very odd and i physically rolled my eyes many times.
