About this listen
Once upon a time, in a parallel universe, there existed the continent of Triton....
The Beast has risen!
Airen is at war. The queen is dead. The coven is incomplete. And things are uncertain under the sea.
Now, the unicorns and mermaids and witches and warriors and the strangers from other lands all must band together to face the Beast and save Triton.
The unions have been realized. Silence and Mars, True and Farah, Cassius and Elena, and Aramus and Ha-Lah are at their fullest powers.
But the gods require sacrifice. The sacrifice of pure love. If it isn’t given, the Beast will prevail, and Triton will fall.
It cannot be escaped; they must use all their might and magic....
The Rising is nigh!

Crying....
Wow!! I love Kristen Ashley’s books as a rule but this audiobook took it to a different level. The performances were stellar. The angst, love, ugh.... so beautifully done. I’m sad it’s over. I hope she does more, that was AMAZING!!

Great reading
I had read this series but decided to listen to it this time instead. The readers were excellent. This final book is a little confusing towards the end. But overall, I quite enjoyed the story (obvs since I read it and listened to it!)

Absolutely terrible
This is not an epic fantasy it is a romance with fantasy moments in between. The only part of this novel that is written well are the sex scenes. The rest has so many holes it gets annoying really fast. The full cast is amazing on the other hand and absolutely wasted on this garbage.

Weak end of a good series
Overall, I quite like Kirsten Ashley books. This 2nd parallel universe series has a lot in common with the first, including cameo appearances of the first 4 couples. I also like the group production but agree with some reviewers that the accents are inconsistent and contrived and they sometimes interfere with the narration. Thus, the listener must get used to characters sounding different with different narrators. The climactic battle scene left out several details, such as the creation of a demon army, thus it was a little confusing. The end of the battle didn't involve the heroes, thus it was anticlimactic. There is another hour of epilogue after the battle, thus the reader has lots to listen to where nothing much happens. Ashley's frequent use of a certain word becomes grating, thus I am lowering my rating.
