About this listen
Told in a voice that is timeless in its message of understanding, The Road Less Traveled continues to enable us to explore the nature of loving relationships and leads us toward a new serenity and fullness of life. It helps us determine how to distinguish dependency from love; how to become a more sensitive parent; and ultimately how to become one's own true self.
Recognizing that "Life is difficult" and that the journey to spiritual growth is a long one, Dr. Peck never bullies his listeners, but gently guides them through the hard and often painful process of change toward a higher level of self-understanding.
Combining profound psychological insight and deep spirituality, this is an audiobook that provides inspiration and understanding.

The book draws its inspiration from stoicism, the ancient Greek philosophy of enduring pain or adversity with perseverance and resilience. Stoics focus on the things they can control, let go of everything else, and turn every new obstacle into an opportunity to get better, stronger, tougher. As Marcus Aurelius put it nearly 2000 years ago: “The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.”

Story
Men have been conditioned to be the quintessential "nice guy". They're trained to be overly humble, kind to a fault, and that just "being themselves" is enough to attract and keep the woman of their dreams. Men are told to believe that conventional masculinity is toxic and to put women ahead of their own interests, passions, and purpose. This book exposes the comforting lies you've been told throughout your life for what they really are, enabling you to become a truly authentic alpha who chases excellence and leads a successful passion-filled life.

Explains godless religion
So as most people here, i also found the beginning of the book enlightening and interesting. The book started with taking responsibility, self discipline and relationships. Then moved into love and grace; which turned into religion and higher power. The writer is a scientist, and understands the concept of god that is created by the social need. However, he claims we still need religion to be spiritual. The book actually states that all spirualism is religion. I found the last chapters of the book outdated and far fetched.
There are also background noise through out the whole book which makes it hard to listen. Overall I probably wouldnt recommend this book.

Fantastic
This book is mind expanding and deeply thoughtful with insights into the human condition. Some people may say that it contradicts religion, but in my opinion it provides a bridge between a variety of spiritualities and religion to psychotherapy. A truly fascinating book, I highly recommend.

Deep incite from 1978, but lost to fantasy and mental illness.
There are many great insights to be taken from this. As long as you look at what you can get from it and not take it as a blueprint, you will enjoy the insight.

Soul touching
I haven’t read any books on self-development, so I was looking for a book that was easy to read and that was somewhat like an overall summary of what it means to be alive. This book did exactly that. Will be reading this book over and over again in the years to come.

Too Good To Explain
To try to convey the message of this book in anything less than the book itself would be arrogant. Read the book.

First half changed my life
I needed to hear some definitions like self love, discipline, and pain explained to me. This book did it!
It was a bit disheartening about the second half, but I found this book valuable.
Recommend to read.
