I'm a great fan of the Romanovs and fascinated by forensic pathology. This book manages to make both boring. There is way too much emphasis on the internecine squabbles of the various scientific and political figures involved in the case. I'm four hours along and I'm not even sure i can finish this.

Robert Massie has written some excellent books but this isn't one of them.
