Worth it!

I bought this on a whim. At first I was worried that I’d gotten myself into some new age woohoo but it’s not a long book so I decided to keep going. I’m glad I did. About midpoint I realized that I felt like I was on the phone with one of my friends. It’s very relatable. The author is aware of her places of privileges and is handed some big challenges and handles them with grace. For me it was calming. A wee break from my life at present.
I recommend this book for anyone who needs to practice accessing their safe place(s). For an escape with benefits. It gave me the chance to practice being grounded and present in my daily life, to being safe.

So disappointing…

I had such a hard time getting through this sappy book!
The narrative was irritatingly new-age-y” and almost condescending. If you want to know about the author’s experiences as she gushes about herself through every annoying chapter. I felt like she was a narcissist reading her diary aloud to me.
I hung in there with the hopes that I would get some helpful tips, but it believe I learned absolutely zero!!
This should have been condensed into perhaps a podcast or her own boring Facebook post, read only by her friends.
Massive waste of my money and my time!

It’s all been said before!

A friend recommended this book so I put on my head phones and set out on a hike. I was looking forward to it as I felt excited to hear some gems worth adding to my tool box to use and share, but instead I heard a story of a woman’s journey to herself which went on and on and on. Eat,Pray,Love took care of this for us already ten yrs or so ago……
I can’t recommend it to anyone but I do wish the author all the best. She wrote a book which many of us haven’t and possibly that might be the most impressive accomplishment!
