About this listen
The Scarlet Gospels takes listeners back many years to the early days of two of Barker's most iconic characters in a battle of good and evil as old as time: The long-beleaguered detective Harry D'Amour, investigator of all supernatural, magical, and malevolent crimes, faces off against his formidable and intensely evil rival, Pinhead, the priest of hell. Barker devotees have been waiting for The Scarlet Gospels with baited breath for years, and it's everything they've begged for and more.
Bloody, terrifying, and brilliantly complex, fans and newcomers alike will not be disappointed by the epic, visionary tale that is The Scarlet Gospels. Barker's horror will make your worst nightmares seem like bedtime stories. The Gospels are coming. Are you ready?

Fantastic
By far the best Clive Barker book, wish he would write more horror. I'm one of the few who can't stand his attempts at fantasy.

I'm sorry
every time the narrator tried to voice one of the characters, they all sounded like the aardvark from the old cartoon, The Ant and The Aardvark. It made it hard to really get into the story

Meh......Nothing Special
From the reviews I read, I expected more. The narration was off. The reader has an English accent when he narrates, but switches to a butchered NYC twang when speaking for a few of the main characters. An odd choice in my opinion. The writing was bland and expectable. I felt as if some of the story was glossed over. There were not any details about the characters. It felt cobbled together quickly. Don't waist your time with this one.
