Jamie's accent is not Scottish, but the story is great and consistent with the series.

Great story, if you can ignore the fake "Scottish"

I love this series of stories. However I couldn't bring myself to give this 5 stars because of the "Scottish" accents. Diana Gabaldon's research is so meticulous its a shame that the fake accents took away from the impact of Jamie's character and the flow of the story.

A great story but,

This is a great story. Especially if you want more Jamie. There are two narrators, the one who voices Lord John’s parts is phenomenal. The one who voices Jamie… is not. He just isn’t the right fit for that character. I found it really hard to get through the Jamie parts because of it. Which is a shame, because I wanted more Jamie!

Narration is not the bench mark Davina Porter has set

The writing is superb and of the fine quality Diana Gabaldon has created in past volumes. Unfortunately the narration has much to be desired and nearly unlistenable. The fake accent is too irregular and not identifiable as Scottish at all. Would have been better if one person had just read it in their natural voice no matter what accent. Or had Davina Porter do it. I couldn’t complete it and had it pick it up on my Kindle.

Another home run for Diana Gabaldon

Honestly I really wish there was more solo novels with Lord John and Jamie Fraser. This was just so fantastic 👏

Getting to know Lord John Gray

I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves the outlander series. This book will show you more insight into the relationship of John and Jamie

Great story. Each narrator's Scots accent is awful

A little confusing at first with the two narrators but each is well suited to the point of view he's narrating. Both of their Scottish accents is execrable though - one sounded more Northern Irish than Scots. Davina Porter is much better at Jamie's accent.

Narrators

I understand the idea of having two narrators one for Jamie one for Lord John unfortunately it doesn’t work.

Outlander fill ins

I found this to be a very intriguing story. It has twists and turns but for the most part it’s a fill in to the outlander series. Still good if your a fan but as a stand alone book it lacked a really great story good yes great no
