About this listen

A murder mystery, high tea, dances, and boys...Regency London has never been so deliciously adventuresome, or romantic!

Seventeen-year-old Lady Alexandra is strong-willed and sharp-tongued - in a house full of older brothers and their friends, she had to learn to hold her own. Not the best makings for an aristocratic lady in Regency London. Yet her mother still dreams of marrying Alex off to someone safe, respectable, and wealthy.

But between ball gown fittings, dances, and dinner parties, Alex, along with her two best friends, Ella and Vivi, manages to get herself into what may be her biggest scrape yet.

it is predictable, but it is an overall quick/absorbing book.

Nice little beach read

This was a nice, no thinking friend-to-lover story where you know who the villain is the moment he’s introduced. Perfect for when you want to be entertained without using too many brain cells.
I’m a bit disappointed that it’s a stand alone and that we don’t get Ella and Vivi’s stories, I think that could’ve been interesting.

As for the narrator, she’s quite good, but her slight lisp distracted me from time to time.
