About this listen
Penguin presents the unabridged audiobook edition of The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
'I've stolen a garden,' she said very fast. 'It isn't mine. It isn't anybody's. Nobody wants it, nobody cares for it, nobody ever goes into it. Perhaps everything is dead in it already; I don't know.'
After losing her parents, young Mary Lennox is sent from India to live in her uncle's gloomy mansion on the wild English moors. She is lonely and has no one to play with, but one day she learns of a secret garden somewhere in the grounds that no one is allowed to enter. Then Mary uncovers an old key in a flowerbed - and a gust of magic leads her to the hidden door. Slowly she turns the key and enters a world she could never have imagined.

Review
One of my favourite books about magic. The narrator is utterly exceptional; I can not emphasize this enough. Well done.

loved the accent
#Audible1 the narrator was perfectly suited to tell this story. My three boys enjoyed listening to this version and I enjoyed not having to attempt a Yorkshire accent while reading it aloud!

Great story beautifully narrated
I loved listening to this. Indira Varma did a phenominal job narrarating this book which was wonderfully written, wrapping you up in the world the children inhabited and understood. I could listen to this again.

I love every second!!!
100% a must listen. Absolutely amazing story and fantastic narrative!!! So well written that at some points I swear I could smell the beauty of the flowers and taste bake goods of Mrs. Sourby. The deep feeling of childhood adventure and the love of exploration mixed with a cool crisp morning air and the sunshine on your face. So uplifting!
