In 1806 William Thornhill, a man of quick temper and deep feelings, is transported from the slums of London to New South Wales for the term of his natural life. This is my 1st time reading a book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it loved the story line and loved the audio what a great book and I love it when I learn something

Listened to this as a Canadian travelling by road through southern Australia. The book is so well written with a gripping story. We almost felt part of the story.
