I tried to like this book

so again, I tried to like this book but I just can't. please let me explain. the title of the book was intriguing but that's about it.
if you remember the Escape to witch mountain in the 80s, you got the storyline of the book. Just put pyramids & aliens.
the characters were ok but predicable (spoiler alert) I would've handed over the brother to the authorities at the beginning of the adventure. how the kids found out about themselves & what happened to their parents was out of this world.
the narrator was good overall. he did a good job on the characters.
I found this a pre teen book & it was ok. as an adult listening to it, it didn't keep me interested.
