About this listen
If anyone had told Sadie she'd be homeless and living out of her car at age 25, she'd have laughed in their faces. She'd have laughed even harder if she'd been told her uptight new beauty-parlor boss, Victoria, would steal her heart and stamp all over it. Because Sadie's way smarter than that.
The saying "You don't know what you have until it's gone" has become Victoria's motto ever since Sadie stumbled into her ordered world. Victoria just needs a cleaner. But apparently Sadie has other talents - the sort that can crack open Victoria's heart and shatter her equilibrium. No, Sadie and her chaotic charms absolutely will not do. Victoria's strict no-workplace-relationship rules exist for a reason. But what if Victoria can't live without her? Is it too late to win back the intoxicating young woman?
Contains mature themes.

enjoyable romance
Just in case it wasn't clear to anyone from the book description, this is indeed an f/f romance complete with a happy ending. The themes of homelessness and sex work might be heavy, but while the subjects were treated with respect and the tension is amped up pretty high at times especially in the beginning, this is not a dark book. Cat Gould did a good job narrating as usual. Check out All the Little Moments by G Benson if you like her narration in this one and haven't listened to that one yet. The book lost its one star because the major moment of crisis between the two main characters could have been better explained (how both characters felt and their motivations). I hope Donna Jay continues the series and has thr sequels made into audiobooks. I would like to see Sierra and Jasmine star in a book each and get their happy endings.
