Beth and Tom Hardcastle are the envy of their neighbourhood – they have the perfect marriage, the perfect house, the perfect family.
When the police knock on their door one evening, Beth panics. Tom should be back from work by now – what if he’s crashed his car? She fears the worst.
But the worst is beyond imagining.
As the interrogation begins, Beth will find herself questioning everything she believed about her husband.
They’re saying he’s a monster. And they’re saying she knew.

Narration is annoying
I may have enjoyed this book more if it weren’t for the obvious spitting the narrator made while speaking. It completely turned me off the book. I debated at one point purchasing the kindle version because I didn’t think I could listen to the narrator for several hours. I only gave the book three stars because I found Beth, the wife of the serial killer, to be an unbelievable character

Excellent book,
Definitely worth the credit! The story was well written, the characters were developed and it kept me intrigued throughout. The narration was great until the last few chapters, which is why I only gave 4 stars overall. Towards the end, sudden silences and abrupt topic changes made me feel like I might be missing bits of the book. Rewinding only had the same results. Could just be sloppy voice editing. However, definitely recommend.

Scary read, but so good!
This author really packs a punch. I bought into Beth’s innocence, and it never wavered until the revelation at end of boo’. Looks like she took a few lessons from her monster husband. Quiet Beth became a force to be reckoned wi5h. Bring on more, Ms. Hunter, well done!
