The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!
In The Shadow Rising, the fourth novel in Robert Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, Rand al’Thor now wields the sword Callandor. He is both the Champion of Light and the Dragon Reborn. Now, he seeks answers to another prophecy that lies with the warrior people known as the Aiel to put him on the path of learning how to wield the One Power.
Accompanied by Moiraine Damodred, Rand arrives at the Aiel Waste and is granted permission by the Wise Ones to enter the sacred city of Rhuidean. After passing through a doorframe ter'angreal, Moiraine gains foresight while the Aiel await Rand's return, either with both arms marked by dragon symbols, validating his identity as He Who Comes With the Dawn, the Chief of Chiefs of all the Aiel—or to never emerge at all.
Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

Some parts have audio errors
Chapter 5 - Questioners - Has parts in the audio that go dead. Aside from getting a paper copy to read it myself, I have no idea what is being said. It is really unfortunate since until now the book has been flawless.

Great story, fantastic narration
Rosamund Pike continues to knock it out of the park. I drew this book out over two months because I didn’t want it to end!

Another outstanding performance
I’m so sad I’ve finished this audiobook already since I don’t know if or when Rosamund Pike will be narrating the next one. I’ve listened to the original audiobook recordings of the series and while they are dear to my heart, Rosamund Pike is a truly outstanding narrator. I often found that the climactic scenes would take me by surprise in the original recordings, not realizing that the action was coming to a head because the flat tone would not match the action being described. The previous narrators read the books; Pike performs. In this book, as well as the previous ones, Pike’s performance crackles with emotion and whether she is describing heartache or mischief or terror or any other experience Jordan puts his characters through, her tone and timbre is always utterly on point and deeply engaging. Every character is given its own distinct and appropriate voice. I honestly would forget that it was a single person giving voice to ancient Ogier and chattering innkeeper, haughty Aes Sedai and self-righteous Whitecloak, and of course the POV characters are all beautifully individuated. Her sonorous voice brings a depth and dignity to the writing that itself can be quite uneven, so I can forgive even the silly teenage romance drama bits and the dry political machinations that I used to find myself getting a bit impatient with or bored by. Finally, since my only experience with TWoT is via audiobook and therefore auditory, I appreciated the consistent pronunciation of the dozens of proper nouns (names, places, terms) across chapters and books, as inconsistency led to a lot of confusion and frustration with previous narrators. I eagerly await Pike’s next instalment!

Pure talent, every character sounds unique!
I adore Rosamund's reading. She gives 100% every time! The huge array of accents & tones makes it that I know who is talking without need for clarification. This woman has extraordinary talent, she even sings and she puts a lot of work and emotion in her interpretation of the characters.
What I didn't like, compared to the previous 3 books, is the difference in volume. Sometimes, one can barely hear what is said, other times it is extremely loud and makes one jump. I understand that different volumes add to the magic and make the action unravel better, but this one was taken to the extreme. I would tone it down quite a bit, this was not an issue in the previous books.

Again, another marvelous performance.
I have listened to the Kate Reading and Michael Cramer version at least 4 times, and it was a delight, every time. Just like the other 3 books, Rosamund Pike does a splendid job. Another new way to experience this wonderful book. Thank you.

Best ever!
Rosamund’s range of accents , her depth and nuance in relating this epic adventure is striking and magnificent! Our family listens to this together and it is thoroughly enjoyable. We are nearing the end of this book and are praying that Rosamund will read the entire series and that we don’t have to wait too long for them. Best actor ever!!! And amazing series!!

Good story but GLITCHY!
Early on there are a couple of duplicate words or sentences. Later, the audio gets choppy and skips in a number of places.
I thought maybe it was something unrelated to the recording but rewinding and playing again just had the skips in the exact same places.
If those issues get fixed it’s an enjoyable experience.
