About this listen
She's not looking for a hero. He's not looking for a hookup.
For Bella, the sweet-talking, free-loving, hip-checking student manager of the Harkness men's hockey team, sex is a second language. She's used to being fluent where others stutter, and the things people say behind her back don't (often) bother her. So she can't understand why her smoking-hot downstairs neighbor has so much trouble staying friends after their spontaneous night together. She knows better than to worry about it, but there's something in those espresso eyes that makes her second-guess herself.
Rafe is appalled with himself for losing his virginity in a drunken hookup. His strict Catholic upbringing always emphasized loving thy neighbor - but not with a bottle of wine and a box of condoms. The result is an Ivy League bout of awkwardness. But when Bella is leveled by a little bad luck and a downright nasty fraternity stunt, it's Rafe who is there to pick up the pieces.
Bella doesn't want Rafe's help, and she's through with men. Too bad the undeniable spark that crackles between the two of them just can't be extinguished.

Bella and Rafe!
These two definitely had me concerned about them more than once! Complete and total opposites on so many things, yet, the chemistry that sizzled between them didn’t care. The good news is that they became great friends, the bad news, they really needed a good friend to get through their life at the time. In the end, stubbornness wins, and they get all they ever wanted <3

T’was only okay for me
I didn’t fall head over heels with this one. Narrators are good but not great (for me). The male narrator talked way too fast & always way too excitedly. It was stressful to listen to him.

Surprising
I liked the way the main character is shown differently from what we saw in the previous book. Also liked that (finally) a Dean was put in the situation with no choice but to react.

struggled to finish
struggled to finish. Could have been shorter as it seemed to drag on throughout the whole book.

This series' worst
All the other books in this series are petty good and cute and the one right before this one "The understatement of the year" is probably the best one in the series. Unfortunately, this one is the worst.
The narration is really bad, names mispronounced, stumbling on words, bad female/male voices.
Some of the Spanish is translated, some isn't, the story just feels like it never ends, which is the opposite from the previous book, which ended way too fast!
The story tries too hard to be unpredictable but ends up being tacky, in my opinion. This one just doesn't fit with the rest!

I hate giving a Sarina Bowen book a bad review!
This is the first Sarina Bowen book I didn't like. Mainly because of the narrators. I don't understand how one narrator can mispronounce a name so mane times....but then say it correctly 2 lines later...then go back to the mispronounced version?! She will refer to the male counterpart as "Raff" then a line later she will say "Raif" then go back to "Raff" and so on ....for the ENTIRE BOOK! Then she called Johnny Rikker, RYKER....not"ricker" as in other books. That is so distracting. Sarina works hard on creating a relationship with her readers with these Character and Saskia Maarleveld (the narrator) destroys that.
