About this listen
A serial murderer known only by a grotesquely apt nickname—Buffalo Bill—is stalking women. He has a purpose, but no one can fathom it, for the bodies are discovered in different states. Clarice Starling, a young trainee at the FBI Academy, is surprised to be summoned by Jack Crawford, chief of the Bureau's Behavioral Science section. Her assignment: to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter—Hannibal the Cannibal—who is kept under close watch in the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane.
Dr. Lecter is a former psychiatrist with a grisly history, unusual tastes, and an intense curiosity about the darker corners of the mind. His intimate understanding of the killer and of Clarice herself form the core of Thomas Harris' The Silence of the Lambs—and ingenious, masterfully written book and an unforgettable classic of suspense fiction.

Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

Story
With its brilliant and brutal portrayal of the Corleone family, The Godfather burned its way into our national consciousness. This unforgettable saga of crime and corruption, passion and loyalty continues to stand the test of time, as the definitive novel of the Mafia underworld. A #1 New York Times bestseller in 1969, Mario Puzo's epic was turned into the incomparable film of the same name, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. It is the original classic that has been often imitated, but never matched.

Story
It was a dark and stormy night when Mary Crane glimpsed the unlit neon sign announcing the vacancy at the Bates Motel. Exhausted, lost, and at the end of her rope, she was eager for a hot shower and a bed for the night. Her room was musty, but clean, and the manager seemed nice, if a little odd.

What the critics say
"Scary Tales are always best when told out loud, which is why a novel such as The Silence of the Lambs works so well on tape." (Playboy)
"Even if you’ve already loved the movie and the book, you’ll still love this production of this wildly successful thriller.... This telling should not be missed. Acclaimed and popular narrator Frank Muller does his usual great narration by changing timbre and the level of his voice and sometimes his accent. The characters sound exactly as they should in this wonderful production. It’s probably wise to stay away from listening to this while eating, but otherwise it’s a triumph." (AudioFile)

Popular for a reason
If you've read the synopsis and are intrigued, then you will enjoy this book. It's not a perfect story- but few are. This one suffers ever so slightly from a few one dimensional background characters made solely to act as a foil for the protagonist.
But the dynamics between the primary characters makes up any shortfalls, and it's not enough to distract from the whole.
Frank Miller reading is a gem. He voices every character differently, and he does an amazing job of mimicking Anthony Hopkins iconic vocal mannerisms of Hannibal Lector.

An intelligent and thrilling story.
Great character work all round, impactful story, and intelligent writing make this book fantastic. The parts with Lector are tense, and Starling is a fully fresh out character you really rout for.

Absolutely incredible
An incredibly dark, gripping, scary story. Harris created one of the greatest literary characters of all-time in Hannibal Lecter. This incredible story is delivered by a just as incredible narrator. The delivery of Lecter’s lines are creepy and gives so much texture to the story. Highly recommended.

Very compelling story with very little time wasted on extraneous fluff.
This reader could be quite monotonous in his delivery. A dynamic reader can make a mediocre book enjoyable, but a disinterested reader can ruin even the best story. Certainly not the worst I’ve heard, but also a long way from the best.

Audio recording bad quality
Book is great, but the audio has constant static in the background which gets in the way of the narration at times.
