About this listen
A dozen years of peace have passed in the city of White Gryphon - providing well-deserved and much-needed security for the people who had lost their homes in the magical Cataclysm which killed the Mage Urtho, creator of the gryphons. But the inhabitants of White Gryphon have not forgotten their long struggles, and have trained an elite guard force, the Silver Gryphons, to protect their city, and if necessary, to join with the army of the Black Kings for mutual defense.

Good survival story
This story follows two of Skan and Amberdrake's children. Having different main characters changed the tone for sure and having it be a survival in the wild story changed it more, but after many times through this trilogy it might actually be my favourite. In some moods, The Black Gryphon is. There is good world-building here and strong characters. If you like strategy based stories this might be a good fit for you. You can think of it as an extended epilogue.
The narrator was decent. He didn't add to the story like the best ones do, but he didn't ruin it unlike the narrator of the Owl books by the same authors did. If you prefer matter of fact narrators over emotive ones you might enjoy this narrator more than I did.
