"Camilleri displays all the storytelling skills that have made him an international best-seller....Montalbano, despite his curmudgeonly exterior, has a depth to him that charms. Readers are sure to savor this engrossing, Mafia-free Sicilian mystery." (Publishers Weekly)

Wonderful plotting and characters
Balance and connection among the three stands of the plot - murders at sea (between Africa and Sicily), and on land, and introduction of Francois, an orphaned Tunisian boy who will appear in several books of the series - is exquisite.
Also the relationships between Salvo and Livia, and his father, and the Commissioner are all shown more deeply than before.
Grover Gardner narration, as always, is a deeply engaging performance.
